Our king size block printed quilt has been block printed with irregular stripes along the bottom, or looks great folded over at the top of the bed. It has been dip dyed by our master dyers in Bagru - a technique that they had not tried before and we love it. Where the second layer of darker dye meets the lighter base layer is beautiful. Every quilt is 100% unique.

230cm x 220cm made from 100% organic cotton, soft cotton outer with organic cotton padding on the inside. Machine stitched by hand with 10cm checked stitch lines.

The pattern is stamped onto the fabric using the traditional dabu printing process. Dabu is an age old printing technique, passed down through generations of printers and is a mud resist process.

Firstly the fabric is printed in mud using a hand carved wooden printing block, the mud is used as an ink pad. It is then sprinkled with sawdust to dry in the hot Indian sun and then dipped in the natural grey colour Kassis to achieve the colour. Kassis is a mineral produced from iron deposits and is 100% natural and organic and is actually released back into the farmland once the process has completed.
